Angie and Diego's visit to W.V.

Angie and Diego came for a short visit and we crammed as many things as possible into it. I picked her up in Washington D.C. on Wed. and we shopped a little on the way home. We got back in time to pick Faith up from AWANA's. She was so excited to see GG, but Diego was even more excited to see Faith (Face-as he likes to call her).

I took Angie to the Greenbrier on Thursday and Faith had dress rehearsal for her performance the following evening at Greenbrier Valley Theatre. So on Friday evening we headed to the performance. It was sooo cute. All of the characters were bugs and Faith was just adorable. As you can see below, she was a ladybug and that had the cutest song about being a lady!
We are all waiting for the performance to begin.

Afterwards, we waited for Faith to change her clothes and got ready to walk to the car. However, the city fountain in downtown caught our attention. The kids wanted to run through it, so I said of course. Angie was sooo mad at me. I didn't care though, Diego can do whatever he wants when he is with Aunt Amy! As you can see below, the kids had a blast. Diego did not want his sweater off, but mom insisted. Jason drove home and got some towels for the kids...a perk of living in a small town.
Ahhh, to be a kid again!

On Saturday morning we got up and took an hour long drive to see some waterfalls and do a little bit of hiking.

The kids had the best time hiking. They loved hunting for "treasures" and I think the boys picked up every stick on the trail. The trail led us to three different waterfalls. We got a nice workout in, but it was so peaceful out there that we really enjoyed it.
On Monday afternoon, Angie and the boys and I headed back to D.C. Of course we spent the evening shopping at the outlet mall. The boys had a blast staying in the hotel room together. Then next morning we got up and headed to The Natural History Museum at the Smithsonian. The boys loved the dinosaurs, but Dayne definitely had to stay on his leash. He wanted to be everywhere. He kept saying "Sharktooth mommy" when he would see the T-Rex. He has been watching The Land Before Time way too much!
Next, we took the boys to the National Zoo. I have to say that driving around D.C. in the rain is not something I ever want to get used to. The boys enjoyed the zoo and we finished just in time for the drizzling rain to become a down pour! You should have seen us by the time we got back to our cars. Unfortunately, it was then time to take them back to the airport and send them home. We made lots of sweet memories though.
